LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) machines and underground mining loaders are the backbone of bulk material transport in modern underground mining operations. Unlike standard surface wheel loaders, these low-profile machines are built to operate in tight headings, scoop fragmented ore/rock at the draw point, transport (haul) it over short-to-medium distances, and dump it into ore passes, underground dump trucks, or crusher hoppers.
